Trip to Portrush and the North Coast

I haven’t posted anything in a while but last weekend was our 5th wedding anniversary and we decided a trip to Portrush and the north coast for the weekend was in order.

We went to Waterworld, a kids adventure type swimming pool that has been there for decades.  I remember being at the pool as a kid but couldn’t remember what it was really like.  Seeing AJ wade through the water which was up at his chest at the deepest part was fun as he could walk around the entire pool and climb in and out unaided – something other pools are to deep for him to do this in.

For lunch we headed to the Ramore Wine Bar and although a little on the expensive side.  AJ loved his mini cod and chips and had no problem stuffing his face.

We headed over to Barry’s Amusements to give AJ a go on the

The weather was overcast but dry so it meant we could build some sandcastles and have a run about on the beach.

We stayed at the Inn on the Coast which was a nice hotel located on the Portstewart Road just before the Juniper Chicane on the NW200 circuit.

The Northern Ireland vs Wales game was on in the bar so we watched that and had a few drinks while AJ amused himself by running about the bar and showing off his belly to the other patrons.

On departure we headed round the coast to Torr Head and stopped off to enjoy some scenery before we headed home.
